Fenton Road Housegroup - Meets Tuesday 8.00

Fenton Road - Jan and Mike
A small but friendly housegroup, currently with seven members from St Michael’s. We always welcome new members from any of the churches. The weekly meetings tend to follow the format of worship, study (sometimes a book of the Bible, sometimes a theme) and prayer. We also enjoy eating together on a regular basis, to which we invite partners who may not normally come to the group, and also sometimes invite other members of St Michael’s especially those who are new to the church.

Monk Road Housegroup - Meets Tuesday Evenings

Monk Road - Tim
We are a group from St Michael’s meeting for fellowship, Bible study, prayer and support. We also enjoy the occasional meal together and go on holiday together. We always welcome new members.

Kent Road Home Group - Meets alternate Tuesdays 8.00-9.30

Kent Road - Steve and Jan
The group is now meeting on alternate Tuesdays. We meet at 8.00 and endeavour to finish promptly at 9.30. In the past we have studied Bible passages, Christian books such as Jim Packer’s ‘Knowing God’ and John Stott’s ‘Basic Christianity’ and have explored ways of worshipping together. The group encourages honest discussion of issues. We usually end with a brief period of sharing and intercessory prayer.

Church of the Good Shepherd - Tuesday Morning Group

Alternate Tuesdays10.15-12.00
Longmead Avenue - Janet
We meet for prayer, Bible study and mutual support. Our recent studies have included topics from the Lifebuilder Bible series, a course on healing, and Meditations and Payers by Eddie Askew.

Thursday Afternoon Group - Meets Thursday 2.00-3.30

Kellaway Avenue - Varna
We are seven retired ladies who meet to study the Bible, enjoy a chat with tea and biscuits and pray for concerns within the group and at St Michaels’s. We belong to Christian Women Communicating Interdenominational which produced the Know Your Bible books which we study. KYB studies are designed to help women through personal study and group sharing to know God’s word and message today. Through the CWCI we are invited to attend occasional conventions to listen to excellent speakers who provide teaching and guidance on different aspects of Christian life. We enjoy our happy afternoons and welcome anyone wishing to join us.

Diles’ Housegroup - Meets Thursdays 8.00-10.00

Springfield Grove - Graham and Helen
Sometimes challenging, sometimes amusing, but always thought-provoking, we have some lively discussions in this supportive group. Members bring a variety of Christian experience and backgrounds, and feel comfortable to ask questions about their faith. We use a range of resources and learning styles. The group has members from more than one church centre and we would welcome newcomers from across the parish.

Church of the Good Shepherd Bible Study Group

Meets Mondays 10.00
Queens Drive - Brenda
This group of eight ladies, two from St Bonaventure’s and the remainder from Church of the Good Shepherd, has been meeting regularly for some years. Our sessions are based on the ‘Lifebuilders Bible Study’ and include studies of the Old and New Testaments. We concentrate on Bible Study only but set aside time for prayer whenever we meet.

Monday St Bart’s Group - Term time 2nd and 4th Mondays

Chesterfield Road - Sheila
Our focus is on fellowship, centred around Bible-based discussion, relating our faith to today’s world, sharing our concerns and praying for them together. Once every two months we have a time of meditation (silent prayer) and then share prayers, poems or other writings that we have found very significant. New people are welcome.

Open House Group - 2nd & 4th Wednesdays 8.00-9.45

Effingham Road - David
We aim to have a homely environment in which we can all share our spiritual concerns about living in today’s world. This is a place where we can feel comfortable in talking about our faith and our relationship with the Lord Jesus, our church and witness, our beliefs and opinions and our Christian concern for others. Discussion is wide-ranging over many topics. We share the Word of God from the scriptures, prayer and the ministry which others bring to us when they come as visitors. We are open to all comers in the knowledge that Jesus turns no-one away, that He came to serve, that He still comes and we thank God our Father that He does.

St Barts Tuesday Group - Meets Tuesdays 7.00

Sommerville Road - Jill
This is a group of seven or so mature folk who meet for a traditional Bible study on a regular basis. Colin Nicholls ably leads the studies. We alternate between studies in the Old and New Testaments.
